SPEAKER BIO:

Dr. Joshua Welch is an Associate Professor of Computational Medicine and
Bioinformatics and Computer Science and Engineering at the University
of Michigan. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and did postdoctoral research at the
Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. Dr. Welch's current research uses
artificial intelligence approaches to decipher the molecular
mechanisms of the cell. As a graduate student, he was involved with
the North Carolina Study Center in its early days, then helped to
launch the Michigan Christian Study Center in 2022 as a faculty
member.
